Meeting with Minister of Environment Forest and Climate Changes Shree Prakash Javadekar
We are pleased to share that SAMA had successfully conducted a meeting with Minister of Environment Forest and Climate Changes Shree Prakash Javadekar on Friday 13 March 2020 at 6 pm at his office.
Vice President SAMA Mr Sumit Katyal and Executive Director Dr Yogita Shukla were present in the meeting with the Minister.
The agenda of the meeting was to share the concerns and issues of the industry with the Minister and seek his support to strengthen the use of survey and mapping technologies in EFCC sector.
The Minister assured the SAMA representatives of full support from the Ministry in addressing the concerns of the industry where most of the geospatial projects are implemented in a fragmented manner and are siloed.
This results in ineffective implementation of the projects. SAMA delegation therefore proposed to organise a workshop with ministry and update them on state of the art technologies in geospatial.
Since geospatial information is dynamic and requires regular update on technologies and its implementation, we further requested Hon'bl Minister to form a committee of ministry officials and SAMA representatives, which will constantly engage with each other on regular basis. In this regard he had asked for a formal proposal and letter for the same from SAMA.
Meeting with Minister of State (IC) Urban Development and Civil Aviation Mr Hardeep Singh Puri
We are pleased to share that SAMA had successfully conducted a meeting with Minister of State (IC) Urban Development and Civil Aviation Mr Hardeep Singh Puri on Friday 17 January 2020 at 4 pm at his office. President SAMA Mr Dheeraj Sharma, Vice President Dr Manosi Lahiri and Executive Director Dr Yogita Shukla were present in the meeting with the Minister.
The agenda of the meeting was to share the concerns and issues of the industry with the Minister and seek his support to strengthen the use of survey and mapping technologies in urban development sector.
The Minister assured the SAMA representatives of full support from the Ministry in addressing the concerns of the industry and also arranged for meetings with the senior officials of the Ministry to take the engagement between SAMA and MoHUA to next level.
President SAMA also presented a customised personal new year calendar to the Minister.
