Aim

The aim of the association is to promote scientific learning and technological developments related to geospatial technologies in general and more particularly, through the diffusion of knowledge for the increased usage of state of the art surveying and mapping technologies based solutions and services, in governance and industry. It aims to work as an interface between industry and government to address the concerns of the industry as well as of the government departments/user organizations.

Objectives

The main objective of SAMA is to work as an interface between industry and government to address the concerns of the industry as well as of the government departments/user organizations. It will provide member companies an opportunity for the interchange of views on any matters in general affecting Indian Geospatial industry and more particularly survey and mapping industry. It focuses to encourage research, development, education, training and certification in surveying and mapping technologies for skill development to contribute to industry and relevant government programs, to represent member companies before the government on the policy/ arbitration, to promote, develop and protect interest of the geospatial industry; to promote and originate improvements in the law in any way affecting the Geospatial industry, and for purposes aforesaid to support or oppose any proceedings in parliament or elsewhere and to take such steps (if any) as may be deemed necessary.
